Kristen Bell was born on 18 July 1980 in Huntington Woods, Detroit, Michigan. Her father is Tom Bell, a television news director and her mother is Lorelei Bell, a registered nurse. Her parents got divorced when she was two years old. She studied at the Burton Elementary school in Huntington Woods, where she learned singing and tap-dancing. After this, she went on to study at the Shrine Catholic High School, in nearby Royal Oak. She took part in the drama and music club in this school. She starred in the school’s production, ‘The wizard of Oz’, ‘Fiddler on the Roof’, ‘Lady Be Good’ and ‘Li’l Abner‘. She attended the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University where she majored in musical theater. Her right eye is affected with ‘lazy eye’ and the problem enhances if she does not have enough sleep.

She was the ‘World’s Sexiest Vegetarian‘ on PETA’s yearly poll in 2006. She was included in Maxim’s ‘Hot 100‘ list in 2005, 2006 and 2007 and was also enlisted in Ask Men’s ‘Top 99 Women’ in 2008. She topped in the ‘Fall TV’s Criminally Sexy Investigators’ of Maxim in 2006.

She is now dating actor Dax Shepard, after her break-up with her former fiancé Kevin Mann. She has been a vegetarian since the age of 11 and she is an animal lover too. She is involved with non-profit organizations dedicated to animal protection and often actively participates in fund raising for ASPCA. She is also attached to a charity organization ‘Invisible Children Inc.’, which creates awareness towards the plight of Northern Ugandans who are caught in the midst of a civil war.
